The second set of vertical brackets is 1x1x1/8" aluminum, same stock as the horizontal bracket. One bolt connects the two brackets. The picture is not very clear.
The horizontal brackets are secured to the fiberglass roof with VHB tape and #10 SS screws. Dicor is used to ensure there are no leaks due to the screws.
The brackets and panels are not going to move.
Also, Dicor expire whether you use it or not. Saving it won't do it any good. There is a reason what manufacturers "puddle" Dicor. I would use a lot more than you did. It is different than caulking the bathtub. You don't need to be exact.
