We have a Yamaha 2400 that we bring on most trips, and the permanently installed 280 watts of solar with 1500 watt PSW inverter and 2x6V GC batteries. We dry camp exclusively and I just plug the TT into the inverter. The only 120V needs are the television and recharging other battery items. The microwave draws too much juice for the inverter, but one of the inverter MW sounds attractive so I could dial the power needs down. The couple times per year where we "need" the air con I fire up the generator. It is marginal for running the 13.5kBtu air con, if we're at high altitude it may not work. But it is probably not that hot up there, either, so no need for air con.
I so have to make a conscious effort to park the TT for good solar harvest. When I screw that up, I have fired up the generator up for some quick charging. I need to upgrade my WFCO converter to make the most of those times. But it is so rare that it is hardly a priority.
