I got the extra panels (two 100s) to add in with the 130 so I would not need to use any contraptions this year and still get more AH than last year.
That is correct math and theory, but takes no account of the Urge to Tinker. I like playing with panel orientation and checking the Trimetric to see how much the amps went up. Can't be helped.
Not shown in the photos above is the collection of bungee cords, ropes, pieces of wood for shimming, rubber mats to protect the roof, wiring connections, etc that go into it all. Especially so it doesn't fly away in a strong wind.
I use Rv roof anchor points
-cargo rails at the back
-bottom of a/c shroud (metal part with slots for bungee cord hooks)
-set of car top ski racks end to end, hooked across the trailer roof
I make no claim to craftsmanship such as many on the forum can do. Just banging stuff together from bits and pieces at hand. Showing this in case it gives others some ideas of what they can try out
BTW the wiring method is to join up the reds and whites shown and then clamp to each with the jumper cable end that goes to the rest of the wiring depending on where it all gets set-up. It is not pretty but I still get the full amps.
