Actually, I could flat mount them and still get enough AH for summer on nice "full days."
I like having them tilted for those many still nice but half cloudy/half blue sky days we get here in summer. I don't use solar at all camping from Oct-Mar, and the trailer is parked under trees at home with sometimes windfall coming down that might break the glass, so I don't want to permanently mount them.
Where we camp for long times in one spot in summer, it is no bother setting them up tilted. If we were "on the road", often moving, that would be different. Then portable on the ground would be our choice.
There are several others doing what we are doing here ("seasonal") with their panels at ground level just propped up against the South side of their rigs.
