Solar panels for less than ideal conditions - bypass diodes?

I’m looking at adding solar capacity to the coach. For boondocking, we figure to be in an area where overcast, clouds, some shade, etc. are common. I want to choose panels that will perform as well ...

More smaller panels can help with the shading problem. If you have 4 panels in parallel, and one is shaded, the other 3 will still be working. If you have 1 panel, and it is part shaded, you're sunk.

Of course its more effort to mount and more wire, but it helps.
