Solar panels for less than ideal conditions - bypass diodes?

I’m looking at adding solar capacity to the coach. For boondocking, we figure to be in an area where overcast, clouds, some shade, etc. are common. I want to choose panels that will perform as well ...

The given amps of the entire string become whatever the amps of the shaded panel are. That's how series works.


The whole idea of a BYPASS DIODE is that it bypasses the section that is not producing. What you are saying is true if there are no bypass diodes.
