Yeah The author of the book I have mentioned that but I can imagine a 20 pound panel flying off and going thru the windshield of the minivan behind me. One full of 3 year old kids going to a church picnic. I have some Gorilla Double sided extra strong tape. The author installed safety ss aircraft cables to each panel and now I think I've figured out why...heh.
3000 + miles so far and tested to 90 mph, my last trip back from Vegas at 63 mph (all I could do because of high EGTs from wind resistance) and a 40 mph head wind, so call it 100 mph wind test. I check the brackets all the time and they are solid.
I did it right, prepping the surfaces and using angle aluminum that had double the surface area on the bottom.....2x1" angle instead of 1x1"
