I believe BFL was suggesting supplementing the use of a more appropriate charger (on generator power), with the small panel, for continuous maintenance between charge cycles. The charger I suggested would indeed get the job done well within the OP's specified time frame of 8 hours.
The OP appears to only want to supplement generator charging with solar, not replace it.
