Mono are better "in the lab". Poly appear to be better in low light and shady conditions, in real life. Or if you have LOTS of roof space, go with amorphous panels (twice the size of mono or poly for same wattage).
If I redid my system I'd pick poly, high voltage and MPPT. If I were staying below 400 watts I'd go grape with nominally 12 volt panels.
