Phil you can get decent amps to the house batts going down the road with a MH alternator if you are set up right for that, but it is not so easy with a trailer and the 7-pin. You MH guys are spoiled!
Sad sack trailer scenario--You travel all day and stop for the night off grid and use a bunch of AH and can't replace those by driving all day with the 7-pin going. You can't run the gen at your night stop because it is after gen hours. What to do? Roof panels! Now you can get some solar to add to the 7-pin dribble during the day.
(You can also perhaps rig up a gen running while driving but that is a lot of work)
