- JagtechExplorerSolder it once and forget it. Crimp it, and replace crimps when they corrode. Also, wires tend to break where they enter the crimp due to bending and flexing.
- Road_RunnersExplorerI built a 45 ft ocean going sail boat several years ago and I crimped and soldered all the electrical terminals. Now it is 25 years later and all those connections are still sound. So crimping is nice and so is soldering but doing them both together, in my opinion, is best. It is what the boat building code called for.
- IMO crimp is always preferred over solder.
