Interesting. You got me thinking about no load current draw- the inverter I've been using is a Power Bright 1100. It claims to have a no load draw of less than .16 amps. (don't know how accurate this is) link here: http://www.powerbright.com/pw1100-12.html
The proposed replacement, AIMS 1200, I don't have the figure for because when I went to find it I saw that the fan(s) remain on all the time! I canceled the order.
I've had inverters that have the fans on all the time and didn't like it. The Power Bright at least doesn't do that, the fans are very quiet and only come on briefly when the unit is turned on and then only as needed which in my case is almost never.
So now I'm back to looking!
