A ****y DW helps pass the time too. You need to set the ignition timing anyway, so pop the cap take an image of the rotor position, yank the distributor and fondle the gear. The roll pins are easy to find at an authentic auto parts store. All it takes is a straight pin punch a hammer and some common sense. Use. Ain't it nice to diagnose a problem and not spend ONE FREAKIN' DIME THROWING NEW PARTS to find the problem? A roll pin -could- cost you four bits. But somehow I got the impression that you had lined up the damper timing mark with the #1 distributor cap pin and that's when I started fretting about the HEI module. if I had been there three seconds worth of listening to the engine crank would have told me the chain hadn't jumped. Such is life.
