CLAMP DISTRIBUTOR GEAR IN VICE. Use giant crescent wrench to try and turn top of shaft. Cam gear is cast into camshaft. This should not turn into a Hitchcock grade thriller. Yes there is another shaft stage in some HEI distributors. Find the problem, fix it and go camping.
