Years ago I spiked a jar of apple sauce liberally with the hottest green salsa habanero known to mankind. Yep it was removed at a reten in the state of Queretaro. Happy Mouth Blisters! It would take but one teaspoon to work its magic.
Yeah, well I eat habaneros for breakfast.
Well...
Lunch, anyway.
"Honey! Why does my stomach hurt... again???.
Oh yeah. Never mind."
That's a pretty great story, Mex. However, I'm shocked and appalled that you would do such a thing. I had you pegged for successor to Mother Teresa!
After all, Mother Teresa WAS a minion of Satan, wasn't she? Do I have that right?
Been working on piecing together the recipe for a spectacular, yet simple habanero salsa we find around here. Spectacular, but still not for the faint of heart...
Minced Habaneros (guts removed to keep the heat from completely overpowering that great habanero flavor)
Sugar (more heat cutting)
Vinegar
Salt
Fresh lime
OJ
Local Mexicano recipe is still better. Not quite as hot as mine without tasting too sweet either. Can't get them to share their secrets. Thinking of buying them off with some habaneros come wintertime... when the price for the fruit is hitting them a little harder in the pocketbook.
Are you privy to any insider baseball here?
