Don't see much remembering going on. The thing has been nothing but inconsistent and in both directions it seems.
I don't think 105k miles makes a distributor worn out.
I guess it comes down to time or money. Spend more time trying to figure out where things are really at (i.e. TDC at the crank -vs- valve positions -vs- rotor) or spend money changing parts without knowing what is really wrong.
6-7 pages ago I was reading that the timing was advancing itself. That doesn't seem likely to have happened mechanically.
