My rebuilder. Upon my request he went around the corner and did some looking on his shelves. Didn't take him more than a minute. It was the 3rd he found of the three. He said he liked the one of the left better because it was designed to deal with harmonics. Said some fans will really sing at just the right RPMs.
This will be his 3rd rebuild for me.
Note the black disc underneath your shiny one. He thought it might help to seal the gaps. Per my post I feel I should just trust my old grandpa Mex here and not try and fix what ain't broke. Also... as I mentioned... since the fan's job is to PULL air through the unit... not push... it seems that those gaps may actually have some benefit. But that's only a guess.
And yes. He mentioned the importance of getting the spacing just right on the housing side, but also on the pulley side. He noted that 6 rib belts do not like to be misaligned by more than microns... or so.
1. What do you think about the one of the left and the harmonic thing?
2. What do you think about his offer to add that black disc?
