If he has a full load test bench an airlow trial comparison will make him

I had several dozen eye-openers for Marion Hovermale. **** I take it back, the Delco CS 130 alternator has the "copper spot weld" done to the stator leads. But the weld covered a larger area and they had fewer problems. Soldered, they have no problems, ever.
Alternator design has always been done by morons. The Leece Neville JA and JB alternators had 160 ampere models, using 3-50 amp rectifiers and heat sinks designed by 6th graders.
My 400-amp 24-volt Niehoff has a fan at each end, and a massive 1,400 amps X 3 external rectifier box made by me. 4,200 ampere capacity 1,675 PIV. Set on a plating grade heat sink that came from a chrome plating shop. The box is as big as a microwave oven, and sits just forward of the radiator. I do not expect problems from it. The entire system is wired with surplus Space Shuttle Wire. 3 6 gauge teflon-sheathed stator to rectifier leads. Orange, Blue and White.
Oooooooo I loved those Lockheed Surplus Auctions!
Turbine Fan? Ooooooo I gotta go to the bathroom...
