Just got new tires yesterday and they have a nitrogen concentrator that was not working. I told them that's OK because I would not pay for it anyway. They said it would fill to approx 98%. Before we where done talking about that, a women came in to have a low tire filled and they told her that the machine was broken and it would be ok to put in air. DUH? she paid for Nitrogen, so they should put it in, right? The tires where less than a week old. Now, if you put in air and come back in a week when the machine is fixed, how do you remove the air and leave the nitrogen? Nascar may use N because they haven't the room for air compressors and the like. A bottle of N is easier to move than a compressor and no electric needed. The way they use tires, they sometimes don"t get heated up and they get changed. Think of the Homestead race, 3/4 laps on them and they changed tires.
