Took the 5er out yesterday for our first shakedown cruise before our big trip this summer. Currently trying the Splendide for the first time. Never used one before, so I'm not sure how its supposed to work. The first thing I noticed was that the tub didn't fill with water during the wash cycle. It just got the clothes wet, then tumbled them back and forth. DW and I took off for a quick shopping trip. When we came back, we noticed the water pump was cycling on and off. So now it says it's in dry cycle, but every few seconds it sounds like it's draining and then the water pump will come on for about three seconds. Also, we came home to water all over the floor. Is this normal?

Sounds like everything you mentioned is normal. As far as tub fullness think of it as cleaning by extraction. You haven't been there for a spin cycle? Yes it does use water during the dry cycle. Something about wrinkles. Keep your loads small by 'wet weight' and you should be okay. They are reliable machines if installed properly and operated within limits.

Small amount of water in the tub during wash is normal. Front loaders don't use much water. Our water pump will cycle on off during rinse mode. But not during dry mode. And of course water on floor is not normal.Is yours vented or ventless?

That probably explains the water cycling during drying cycle. It actually uses cool water to condense the heated water vapor as part of the drying cycle and drains off that excess water. But water on the floor is not normal.

Call me. I've used one for 10 years. Works good.

If you want or need more water in the wash cycle start out on "Wool" setting until water fills then move to "reset" until the lights flash then move to normal wash. Helpful when washing towels or larger loads.

Is the grey tank full? The ventless model uses a lot more water than the vented model. Could be the grey tank is full and water is coming out the drain.

I had a water pump leak on mine that caused water on the floor. I pull the machine out and repaired it (simple) with a gasket kit from Splendide and was talked thru the repair by their outstanding tech service. Check the drain out cleaner/strainer also if your model has one at the front. Might be loose.

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like it's running normally. But where could it be leaking? When I first hooked it up, some water came out of the hoses. I'm afraid there might have been some water left during the winter. How do I check for any cracked fittings inside the machine?

I don't think water on the floor is ever normal!

I have the 2100XC (vented) and the pump occasionally runs for a few seconds even during the dry cycle. Just to make sure no water remains when the cycle is finished I suppose. It has done this for years and doesn't seem to be abnormal.

make sure you only use about 2 tablespoons of HE detergent. Too much detergent isn't good for them - might have caused the water on the floor??

Pumping noise during the drying stage is normal for our model.
