A lot of thermostats have a 2 degree span in them...ie will turn ON or OFF within 2 degrees of set point (anticipation factor)
BUT the house didn't cool from 75 down to 73...it had to reach 74 and then cool to 73
Your t-stat should have shown a gradual decrease in temp from 75 to 74 to 73
Is this an old analog type or digital t-stat?
Analog.....normal.Just check that it is level
Digital.....should have only a 0.5 degree span
