If the wire is attached to the electrode, it should still work. Make sure the electrode spacing is correct with a 1/8" gap between the HV electrode and the ground, and at least a 1/4" gap between the flame sensor electrode and ground to prevent arcing from the HV that can damage the control board. A dab of glue on the wire end could be used to keep it in place until a replacement is on hand. Also try unplugging the control cable at the board and reconnecting it a few times to help clean the contacts of any corrosion.
