Suburban water heater ?

Electric heat stopped working on my 12DE water heater. Propane still works fine. The on/off switch at the water heater was stuck in the ON position (been fulltiming since '06). Sprayed some professional blaster on it and it started rocking again after awhile. Checked voltage at T-stat and heating element and getting 0 volts. Leads me to believe that the switch got corroded and has a broken wire. Can that switch be popped out from the outside (facing the front of the water heater)? Or do I need to crawl behind and push it out?
