During an electrical storm or hurricane? Best to unplug until the event has passed.
If spending money get a full EMS type that will detect and cut power for bad ground, high voltage, low voltage etc. not just transient surge protection. - ScottGNomadYes but it will do nothing for a nearby lightening strike.
