The idea here is to protect....so I guess the EMS is the better choice, hardwired is "install it and forget about it" rather than set it up each time I hook up.

Soon after I installed my EMS, I found two campgrounds with miswired posts. Scary really. On one, the 30A part was miswired but the 15A ok, so we used that and didn't have to move.
The other was a Canadian National Park where the electricians just wired up a new section of the campground ... and got it wrong. We moved to an older section that was wired right, and reported the problem. The next day I saw the electricians re-working the new section and testing posts all over the campground.
