It doesn't matter where you camp, IMHO and I'm speaking from experience. I'm on my home base site now and had a high voltage issue a couple of days ago. It can happen anywhere anytime.
I agree PI is the only way to go. My PT50 saved me from major damage this past summer and sacrificed itself in the process. Lifetime warranty replaced it. What did I do while the replacement process was happening (which didn't take long), I put my spare PT50 in service?
Yes, I have two PT50's and will absolutely not plug in anywhere without one. I have seen and experienced way too many electrical issues over the past 7 years of full time RV'ing.
