Surge Protection
I have been using surge guard model 44270, today I purchased a model 35550. I am not sure what the big difference is, neither is resettable after a surge. Must be replaced.Am I missing something?

The Model 44270 is the entry level portable 50A surge guard.
It tests for and INDICATES power, Open Neutral, Open Ground, Reverse Polarity etc BUT does NOT have Hi/Lo Voltage trips/auto reset and will still allow power even with other faults indicated
The Model 35550 is te high level hardwired 50A surge guard
It tests AND TRIPS HI/LO Voltage, Open Neutral, Open Ground, Reverse Polarity etc.
This model is much better then the 44270 one BUT-----
Both are NOT field/factory serviceable and only have a 1 yr limited warranty.
When 'broke' they are disposable
Progressive Industries Surge PROTECTORS are higher level protectors and are serviceable/repairable with a LIFETIME warranty.
