Had the 50A, hard wired version of the Surge Guard for 10+ years. Never had "surge" that I'm aware of but it did reject bad power at the pole on a few occasions and the low voltage protection shut down the system from time to time. The latter is good because this situation often occurs when it's hot and eveyrone is running A/C and your A/C is one of the items that can be damaged by low voltage.
