Surge protector

Hello, new to this site and have learned so much already! Great group of helpful people!

We recently purchased a new (1st one) tt and I am trying to cover all bases as far as gear. I am looking for a 30 amp surge protector and the prices are all over the board. Would appreciate advice on a decent product in the 100- dollar range. Does such an animal exist? Thanks!

  • Thanks for all the quick replies. I was afraid it would be an expensive piece of equipment. The little things add up quick!! Trailer was a large purchase for us so I want to do it right and not take a risk.
  • don't buy a $99 cheapie, get a multi-function one for $250 or so. its a one time purchase.
    bumpy
  • What you want is a good multi-function surge protector and those run ~ $250 for a 30A and ~ $350 for a 50A...

The less the money the less the protection and vice versa...
  • don't think you will find a new one for that kind of money. check Ebay for a used unit. By all means get one and use it before a power problem fries your electonics. I have been in a few parks where MHs and fivers have had all their electronics including the inverters/converters fried. Surgeguard and Progressive are the well known units.

good luck and don't put it off.......
