Is this really needed? We have new Winnebago A sightseer. I can see its purpose,but how often is this an issue? Does hot temps affect power or just poor power availability? And, if needed, what ty...

as 2oldman points out, lots of threads on this. I wouldn't be without one myself. but don't get a surge protector for $100, get a multi-function one for $250 and up. plenty of post here where folks have finally decided they needed one, after things blew up on them.
