surge protectors

Hello everyone I want to get a surge protector for my 5th wheel it has a 50amp system, its a Keystone Alpine 39.2 ft. A few weeks ago we were camping and we lost power about three times. So that got me thinks about a good surge protector that will protect the trailer. I think I would need one that protects the 30A and the 50A system I have. Also looking for one that turn it self back on after about 2 minutes. Thank You for any help. Jeff

  • just be sure it is a multi-function surge protector, $250 and up, not the $90 special.

IIRC there recently was a thread which included one reason that the Surge Protector was the one to get.
but do a search, there must be about 33,000,000 threads on Surge protectors.

There really is no decision as to brand as Progressive has TRC beat in every regard. The only decision is whether to select a portable version or hard wire, each with their own respective advantages & disadvantages.

  • We have the Progressive Industries HW50C in our Alpine as well.
  • Progressive Industries for sure. Get the best you can.
Power faults in a campground can cause considerable damage.
It happened to one of my friends.
  • Progressive Industries is the only way to go. Buy one and be finished. Buy a little cheaper then buy again, is false economy. Don't ask me how I know.
  • Recommend Progressive Industries, the 50 amp EMS PTX surge protector will meet your needs. A bit pricey but they come with a lifetime warranty. Have been using the EMS-PT30 for a few year now and there has been a few time we were glad we had it.
