Typically very easy to repair
Although your experience would suggest otherwise I'd have to disagree. A year ago I had the opportunity to buy a used TRC Voltage Regulator but when it arrived and I plugged it in on my workbench it was instantly apparent the unit was faulty. Opening it up I found the main circuit board completely fried in one area so I called TRC in Florida to ask about price & availability of a replacement board. The CSR was completely unhelpful, saying that because the unit was more than a year old they wouldn't repair it nor would they even sell me the parts for me to repair it myself, my only recourse being to toss this one in the trash and buy a brand new unit. :M After contacting the seller and sending him pics of the fried circuit board he graciously refunded my purchase price and in that regard I got lucky, but with no help from TRC. With this experience under my belt I now wouldn't ever buy any TRC product, ever. :M :M I've since sold the TRC Surge Guard I also owned and invested in a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C and couldn't be happier with it or the company's lifetime warranty. :B
