I've noticed that overall, urban dwellers are generally more paranoid about security things than country people are. Guess it has a lot to do with living in close proximity to other humans.

Nearest humans to us are 1/2 mile away.

Yes, I only rarely post largely due to the incredibly rude, obnoxious and useless responses.

I wouldn't think of leaving home without my motion detection cameras up and running. I thought pretty much everyone, at the very least, has a doorbell camera. There is video from those a couple times a week on the news, most of the time solving the crime.

Thinking about this...maybe one could move their dashcam over to the window by the door when parked.

In our case, we have loss prevention, also called insurance.

Doorbell camera? What the heck is that? We have a 108 pound black chow / lab mix doorbell camera. Thinking about it, we don't even have a doorbell. You knock on the door here. If you see teeth through the glass, you know you have been recognized.

If you want to proceed, do so at your own risk. If the dog don't get you, the heater will.... or both depending.:p

That is the climate we live in. Everyone has an ahole and an opinion that must be shouted out. Anyway thanks to the op for sharing.

I have thought of putting up a camera to keep an eye on the roof of our TT during the off-season. Although the campground owners are on-site and pass by it on a daily basis, the roof isn't visible to them. Reolink has a solar powered, wireless camera that would work very well. I may install one this year.

To all the naysayers, in my opinion, Internet Connected Cameras are cheap piece of mind. Knowing what is going on around my house while I am away is very comforting. I don't know about Ring Cameras, but mine are 5 MegaPixel cameras that capture very clear images, day and night.

An intruder can easily take my camera out, but I've got him on stored video doing it. A scary dog can't tell you who killed him while the house is being broken into. A gun isn't going to help if you are 500 miles from home. Home Owners Insurance isn't going to catch the person that broke into my home.

Same here. Precisely why I never leave my home un-monitored. When we're not home, neither is my 4 legged doorbell, nor my "heater". Someone could be in my home for days and no one would know.

Yes, it's a perfect example of "If you don't think like me then you MUST be wrong.".

Ditto comments like 'all the cranks'. WTF? I saw 2 or 3 people say maybe it wasn't a very workable solution.

From a logistics point of view, and from the info (not) provided I can't say I think it's going to accomplish much either.

It needs 120 volts, WIFI and a means of recording the footage, either Cloud or an NVR. That doesn't seem very conducive to a highly mobile vehicle like a toy hauler. On the other hand maybe the OP lives in a sketchy area and is doing this so that is toy hauler is better protected in his own backyard.

We simply don't know.

On that basis a statement like 'all the cranks came out' is no different than 'it won't work'.

If I thought survelliance was necessary I would move.

Course just because an item is available aftermarket does NOT mean it is useful, needed or an improvement....just means it is marketable

Personally I have no need/requirement of such on RV or at home.
