SWM box? It is your receiver. The latest versions are SWM. To use it correctly you need a power supply and a SWM compatible splitter. They will generslly be located near the main TV, actually between the antenns and the TV. Look for a black box maybe 4x6 with a 120VAC cord and two coax connectors.
BB_TX is correct. It is the component that puts electrical current into the coax cable to power the dish. Generally it would be located near the TV where the main box is located.
Only updating an older DTV system or using a dome with a newer receiver would require the SWM8 system linked to above. For most users, the SWM hardware is in the LNB on the antenna itself. The newer Genie receivers even have the Power Inserter built in but he may be searching for the power inserter but since we really don't know what antenna and receiver combo he is using it's impossible to answer. The type of coach he has and if the antenna was factory installed would also help.
Thanks for your posts. I have HD sat direct TV code 775 that tells me to unplug the swim . winnguard it came new with the coach a Newman 2016 canyon star
The reason you are getting that error is that the SWM needs to connect to the dish before the DVR. We get that once in a while on our 2016 Dutchstar. My SWM is in the electronics cabinet where I installed a power strip to turn it off then on.
You might be able just cut all power AC and DC to the coach to reboot everything.
