T-125 (6v) vs T-1275 (12v)

Mex has been explaining the diffs between 12v and 6v deep cycle batts in recent threads, but there are still questions.

With two of the 6s (66 lbs) that is 132 lbs for 240AH (20hr- 12a), while two of the 12s (82 lbs) at 164 lbs is 300AH (20hr- 15a)

6s = 240/132 = 18.18 AH per lb
12s= 300/164 = 18.29 AH per lb

RC at the 25a rate 6s- 294 min, 12s- 280 min. So the story changes going to the 25a rate vs the 20hr rates? The 6s are doing much better per pound by going longer at 25a like that.

6s: 294/132 = 22.27 min per lb
12: 280/164 = 17.07 min per lb

So what about their AHs at the 5hr rates?

6s: 195-39a, so 195/132 = 14.77AH per lb
12s: 240-48a, so 240/164 = 14.63AH per lb

Going from 25a to 39a or 48a they are back to being near equal?
  • what about aH per $$$.
    myself I would be interested in getting the most AHs that fit the space, assuming cost is not outlandish.

  • Maybe some of the ambiguities have everything to do with the active surface area to acid relationship. Always been a sensitive point with scrubbers.
  • Interesting. Maybe the differences have something to do with the total number and size of the individual cells.
