It's really a PITA to get them off and back on, if you do not know how to release the spring tension you can get hurt.
First step, is to flip the release lever and pull the awning out a few inches. then pull the rubber cord that holds the fabric in the slot attached to the camper. then two bolts and it is off.
If any one flips the release lever while the awning is off it will spin like it was trying to retract the awning, be careful
