Both my black and grey water tank sensors read full or partly full even when empty. Has anyone found a product to truly clean the tanks to restore them to proper functionality?

I use a toss in packet called commando from Amazon or Walmart. Last day of camping I toss one in and add water to the tank to get it close to full , then drive home. When I dump the tanks the following day the sensors are nice and clean

Install a good tank flush if you don't already have one.

Make darn sure your black tank really is empty, look down the toilet to confirm. We bought a used 2018 model and I thought the sensors had issues as I drained the lines myself and nothing more was coming out. First long outing we were full the following day, verified by looking down the hatch, lol. There was the pyramid left behind from purchasing, an issue we had to deal with ASAP. Bags of ice on the way home thankfully loosened enough to drain correctly, then using the factory rinse technique we got it cleaned fully and gauges now work as they should.

Dump a large bag of ice cubes into the tank and drive stop and go for a few miles…3 tons

Tank treatment that can restore sensor accuracy?

On our 4th trailer and the sensors never worked fulltime.
Now that it's just the wife and I, not a big deal.

Google theGEO Method...calgonwater softener or borax...my 2013 still reads perfect.

Davw H M,

The wand might work if the toilet is a "straight shot" to the black tank. Mine is not--so it certainly would do little for me.

I guess I could be wrong, but after using the wand my black tank sensors work as they should. :h

Sigh, it kinda felt good to be whatever. ;)
