After seeing the ad for the Truma AquaGo in Trailer Life, I read everything and watched every YouTube video that I could find pertaining to AquaGo. We became convinced that it would be a good replacement for the 2nd generation Girard tankless water heater in our Lance 1575. I had a technical question regarding the operation of the internal circulation pump, and after getting no response to my email, I called the Truma office in Elkhart. I spoke with a very knowledgeable person and got my question answered, but learned some disappointing news in the process. Truma requires that the AquaGo be installed by the dealer, and will not allow DIY installation. That's a non-starter for me. As much as possible, I do my own maintenance and repairs on the trailer--since I will take as much time and effort needed to do the job right. I replaced the first generation Girard with the second generation Girard, and found it to be a straight-forward installation.
Maybe the Girard isn't so bad after all! Although Girard strongly recommends professional installation, they do allow DIY installation.
