funpilot,
Glad to hear that everything worked out eventually.
Sounds great so far. Please keep us posted after more testing.
If you don't mind saying, what model did you get, and what did it cost for the unit?
Ken
I got the Truma Comfort. The unit itself cost me $1199. You then have a choice of three paintable covers (comes in white). My cover cost me $93.00. I know one of the other covers is for installations where the old hot water heater required a larger opening (Truma is compact), so that cover is designed to address that. Then you need to pay for installation. I could be wrong, but I believe I am the first to get a
dealer installed unit. As expensive as all this, it is a small price to pay for DW's happiness. My installation took much longer than I would expect a more "standard" install would take due to the peculiarities of the Trailmanor I have. I would bet that once the old unit is removed, the installer I used could install the Truma in less than an hour but he did say there is no such thing as a standard anything in the RV industry. If you have any interest in using the same company I did, contact Route 12 Mobile RV Repair ( http://www.route12rvrepair.com/ ) Good excuse to enjoy the beach in the Outer Banks, NC and get endless hot water....lol
