May I add a brand new home water heater can be managed by an individual. An old water heater needs a crane even after being drained of every last drop of water. Scale buildup. I had a sludge tap welded onto the bottom of my 10-gallon tank. And added a tap to inject vinegar and neutralizer imto the tank. I baby-sat a home down here that had a tankless Bosch heater. The performance was pathetic. Opening the critter up the heating coil was reduced about half in diameter by scale. This is not a lightweight issue and I do not see an easy way to resolve it.
