The automatic breath-a-lizer ignition devices have been required by the courts since last century.. They work well but there is one issue.. Many times a Previously convicted of OUI driver will have a sober friend blow into the thing or figure out another way to fake it out. After all Criminals WILL BE CRIMINALS.
True story: Man with not one or two but SEVEN prior OUI convictions, on parole, special conditions include No booze (no possession, No consumption, NO being in a place where it is served) NO operation of a motor vehicle.. Well you can open and close the passenger door when so restricted and buckle/unbuckle the passanger seat belt but DO NOT change radio stations or perform ANY operation needing a key. Like unlocking a door or trunk.
