Four way stop is easy. They need to work on defending the car's AI from manipulation, most are easily fooled by stickers or graffiti on things like speed limit and stop signs.
I suspect they will do a much better job at 4 way stops. No frantic hand waving to "be nice" and give up your right of way because you think the other person will get impatient and plow into you as you cross the intersection; no stopping in mid intersection because the person turning left starts into the intersection while you're crossing to go when you've passed because they think you're going to hurdle into them; no confusion that when two vehicles arrive at the same time, the car on the right goes first (unless you're opposite each other in which case you can go at the same time (unless one is making a left turn in which case the one going straight has the right of way)).
Oh my, I can't wait for autonomous cars! How nice those 4 way stops will become.
what if two of the cars are human piloted? the other two fancifully automatically driven?
and when my GPS and computer get to the position of non-failing, but that will be when? a stupid idea,
