Yes, very similar to what would happen if you had the cruise set at 74 mph, and a truck pulled out of a side road directly in front of you. The software acted very like a human in this instance, not a good thing.

OTOH the accident might not have occurred if the truck had also been driven by something other than an extremely fallible human.
