Depends on whether the battery bank is heavily loaded, or in a bulk charge state vs. lightly loaded and float.

The controller adjust the charge voltage with a negative slope (Delta Voltage)/(Delta Temperature). The slope magnitude is a function of battery chemistry.

Depends on many factors, but in general lightly loaded batteries rarely see any significant increase in electrolyte temperature but may not get fully charged at real low temperatures.
