Not sure yet on the location other than my breaker box is under the fridge, all good there, but at the ac which is about 10 feet away its crossed. Hopefully when I receiver the new AC and yank the other I will find the short close to the AC so I dont have to do too much in the ceiling.
The AC issue is something happened and shorted the compressor, when that happens you need a new one so just get a new AC.

Did you in fact disconnect each wire between the breaker box and the AC/Did you check the compressor and fan for short or grounded circuit with no 110 volt wires connected.Did you check the capacitor and other connection points for continuity?Check each wire out individually to be sure you have that reversal problem before yanking and reinstalling new wire.You do know that under certain conditions there can be voltage on the neutral wire.Keep checking every thing and consider consulting a seasoned tradesman.
