When you need help, being humble will take you a lot farther than an IQ of 130 being made an announcement.
Consider being tested for high functioning Autism, or Asperger's Syndrome... your quirkiness strikes a chord, as does the level of your IQ... You're working in an area that may very well be impossible for you to learn, because you just plain have no interest in the subject matter. Aspies in general lack the "jack of all trades" capacity to learn, only unless it interests them.
