Professor - Do you know if the software / module update for the burp problem also affects the surge starting capability? In back-to-back comparisons with all conditions being identical, one of my CPE 2000i's will start an 8K BTU air conditioner every time. The other one is never able to start it and goes into overload every time when the compressor kicks in.
Early CPE2000i modules had a 50ms overload delay and would kick out extremely fast. Later versions were 200ms and then 400ms, which I believe is what the current software version provides. As far as I can tell CPE made adjustments to the software as part of a continuing improvement program without any fanfare or announcements. Customers with the earlier module identified as V.20 did receive an exchange for a V.21 module if they called Tech support and reported overload triping problems.
I did several postings on this with photos showing the improvements after I received the 400ms modules for my twin 2000i units. Sorry, I only remember they are on this thread somewhere - but where?
So, to answer your question, according to my sources the newest software resolves the burp and gives you a 400ms overload delay.
