Since my last posts regarding my generators burps etc I've pulled the carb apart followed the service bullitin provided by another forum member. It helped quite a bit, although it's still not the smoothest running engine around. I've always picked up a second CPE 2000 from Costco along with a parallel kit so I now have a yellow and red unit. Both units suffer significantly at altitude, with the biggest difference I've notice being that the red unit will allow it's voltage to drop down and stay as low as 90 volts and not trip while the yellow unit generally drops off line when the output stays below 95 for any length of time. With both units the shortcoming I experience tend to be lack of engine power rather than tripping the overloads.
The units parallel okay, and power my ac without issue, although they do tend to hunt a bit for throttle position when paired. They also both tend to not like bouncing around in the back of the truck, even when I turn off the gas and run the carb dry prior to transporting. For whatever reason, when I try to start them the first time at the campsite, they're often hard to start the first time.
Finally, both unit run rich fuel wise. If I pull the choke all the way out when first starting the will start stumbling right off the bat and stall if I don't push the choke in immediately after they start.
