There will be a sticker on the back side of the generator with the serial number and build date on it. Look for the "date of manufacture" sticker, and it is also part of the serial number. From my gens, I find:

DOM: May 2011

Serial: 11MAYxxxxxxxx

And if you need a manual, here is Champion's webpage for this specific model (73538i). There is a link to the user's manual on it.
The manual has a chart of maintenance services to perform on the generator.
