I have a small microwave (I am guessing 1000w) and yes my champion will power it (but I have overloaded it if my battery is charging at the same time). I got my champion on sale at Costco for $400 two years ago and have been very happy with my purchase as the Honda 2000 in Canada would run closer to $1400.
